I've been hooked on the Women's Muder Club from the start。 I can't believe that we are now at the 23rd book in the series。 Lindsay is up against a a killer but not just any old murderer。 Blackout is recreating the serial killer Evan Burke who Lindsay and her team captured and is now behind bars。This book has all you want and more from the ladies and with some exceptional twists。 I've been hooked on the Women's Muder Club from the start。 I can't believe that we are now at the 23rd book in the series。 Lindsay is up against a a killer but not just any old murderer。 Blackout is recreating the serial killer Evan Burke who Lindsay and her team captured and is now behind bars。This book has all you want and more from the ladies and with some exceptional twists。 。。。more

You are always in for a good read when Detective Lindsay Boxer is back with the Women's Murder Club! Number 23 was the first of the Women’s murder club series that I have read。 Whilst it took me a good third of the book to get up to speed with the characters and their personalities, I preferred that I had to work at this rather than being bored with the back story explanations that are typical of books in a series。 Once up to speed, I found the book fast paced and enjoyable, if not a little straightforward in its presentation。 There are no big plot twists, no “didn’t see that coming” moments an Number 23 was the first of the Women’s murder club series that I have read。 Whilst it took me a good third of the book to get up to speed with the characters and their personalities, I preferred that I had to work at this rather than being bored with the back story explanations that are typical of books in a series。 Once up to speed, I found the book fast paced and enjoyable, if not a little straightforward in its presentation。 There are no big plot twists, no “didn’t see that coming” moments and if I am being harsh, the point at which the perpetrator is identified relies on the lucky intervention of a third party rather than from inspiration and hard work。Despite the absence of challenge within the storyline, I enjoyed the story and will be looking to read more from this series。 。。。more

James Patterson and Maxine Paetro have once again teamed up to create an entertaining suspense novel。 Cindy is on tour promoting her authorised biography of a serial killer。 Its bound to be a best seller。 She has written the book , not to celebrate the man, but to warn women to be more careful around strangers。 However, not everyone shares her opinion of the killer。 He has a fan who seems to be creating his own homage with each new victim。 What begins as new case for Lindsey and Richie soon hits James Patterson and Maxine Paetro have once again teamed up to create an entertaining suspense novel。 Cindy is on tour promoting her authorised biography of a serial killer。 Its bound to be a best seller。 She has written the book , not to celebrate the man, but to warn women to be more careful around strangers。 However, not everyone shares her opinion of the killer。 He has a fan who seems to be creating his own homage with each new victim。 What begins as new case for Lindsey and Richie soon hits too close to home and the team must race to find the killer before its too late。 。。。more

A Women’s Murder Club novel。 There appears to be a copycat killer on the lose and Boxer needs to find them。 I’ve read a few Women’s Murder Club novels but I found this book had too many characters。 Rather than saying “the witness said”, every single person was giving a full name and description of their life。 This made it very difficult for me to remember who was who outside the Murder Club and husbands。 I wasn’t shocked by any of it and when it ended I kind of thought oh。。 that’s it… It was OK。 A Women’s Murder Club novel。 There appears to be a copycat killer on the lose and Boxer needs to find them。 I’ve read a few Women’s Murder Club novels but I found this book had too many characters。 Rather than saying “the witness said”, every single person was giving a full name and description of their life。 This made it very difficult for me to remember who was who outside the Murder Club and husbands。 I wasn’t shocked by any of it and when it ended I kind of thought oh。。 that’s it… It was OK。 #netgalley 。。。more

23rd Midnight is the twenty third book in James Patterson and Maxine Paetro's Women's Murder Club series and I am always excited when a new title in this series comes out as I have really enjoyed them all。 This book has the usual murder that Detective Lindsay Boxer has to try and solve along with her colleagues and usually with her 3 best friends Cindy, a journalist, Yuki a prosecutor and Claire, the Chief Medical Examiner who all get involved in one way or another。 It's great to see the ongoing 23rd Midnight is the twenty third book in James Patterson and Maxine Paetro's Women's Murder Club series and I am always excited when a new title in this series comes out as I have really enjoyed them all。 This book has the usual murder that Detective Lindsay Boxer has to try and solve along with her colleagues and usually with her 3 best friends Cindy, a journalist, Yuki a prosecutor and Claire, the Chief Medical Examiner who all get involved in one way or another。 It's great to see the ongoing character development in the books, and although this is the latest in a long series, a new reader could easily pick it up and read and enjoy as a standalone。 You'll soon be wanting to read them all。 This book has the usual short sharp chapters that we are used to from James and his co-authors and it very quickly picks up and becomes very exciting。 Cindy has just promoting her published her new true crime novel and becomes embroiled when an obsessed fan starts causing problems that mirror the original serial killers actions。 Lindsay has to try and catch the criminal。A big thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for the opportunity to read and review this book。 。。。more

I love the writing partnership of James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, and the Women’s Murder Club has really well rounded characters in the 4 members of that club。 I like the support and strength that the women get from each other。 The writing style is easy to read, nicely paced and has a really good story。 As always, it’s a stand alone read but I’m glad I’ve read the previous books。 Highly recommended。Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book。

I think that this is the first James Patterson novel I’ve read and I have to say that it came as a bit of a surprise。 Clearly there are millions of Patterson fans out there - this is #23 of this series - but I’m not really one of them。For me the characters were flat and their voices all sounded the same。 Similarly the flip from hard-nosed cop/lawyer, etc to talk of bffs was similarly unconvincing and a bit irritating。 Although it is a police procedural with a pretty impressive body count, I just I think that this is the first James Patterson novel I’ve read and I have to say that it came as a bit of a surprise。 Clearly there are millions of Patterson fans out there - this is #23 of this series - but I’m not really one of them。For me the characters were flat and their voices all sounded the same。 Similarly the flip from hard-nosed cop/lawyer, etc to talk of bffs was similarly unconvincing and a bit irritating。 Although it is a police procedural with a pretty impressive body count, I just didn’t feel any real sense of danger for the protagonists and it all felt extremely unlikely。This sadly didn’t really work for me at all。With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
